Handover without burnout

Notice weeks fill themselves. Clients, tickets, and farewell coffees compete with documentation. A lighter handover structure protects both your reputation and your remaining energy.

Colleagues reviewing shared work

Three columns beat a novel

We ask Roadmap participants to sort work into must-transfer, can-document, and should-escalate. Most people over-invest in the middle column. Escalation is not failure — it is honesty about ownership that never lived with you alone.

Timebox knowledge capture

Forty-five minute blocks with a single artefact — a runbook page, a vendor list, a decision log — outperform weekend marathons. Share drafts early so teammates can ask questions while you still have access.

Protect the last fortnight

If garden leave is possible, unfinished docs may freeze. Aim to close critical transfers before access changes. Module 4 of the Resignation Roadmap includes a weekly checklist you can copy into your own tools.
